Singapore’s IDA unveiled its Infocomm Technology Roadmap outlining nine technology trends that will shape the future. We asked various enterprise IT heavyweights for their perspectives on the Roadmap, and first up, we have consulting firm Accenture.

We provide services across the cloud stack, including:

Cloud Strategy - With proven methodologies and proprietary tools, Accenture Cloud Strategy builds a road map for integrating cloud technologies in a broader IT strategy.

Infrastructure as a Service - Our teams help organisations transform and operate their infrastructure-including servers and storage, networks, security and workplace services-to a virtualised, automated, service-based model. This is the starting point for integrating cloud services, which add another layer of complexity to the IT environment.

Software as a Service (SaaS) Implementation - Accenture helps organisations address how to plan, implement and manage a third-party SaaS solution to maximise speed to value and business functionality.  We help businesses to leverage standardised business processes in SaaS, and differentiate in the processes that really matter. We also address the challenges of integrating multiple applications and systems, striking the right balance between standardisation and customisation and maintaining a tactical focus while building a strategic foundation.  

Platform as a Service - Accenture focuses on the use of cloud of three ways:  first, platform as a service (PaaS), second, application modernisation, and, third, cloud-enabled systems integration. In each case, we are able to leverage assets, methods, delivery capabilities, and alliance relationships that in combination provide Accenture with a uniquely differentiated client value proposition, including potentially reduced infrastructure costs, reduced total cost of ownership and improved speed to value. 

Looking forward, we are developing cloud services built on our own IP and architecting practical solutions based on others. This includes bringing our Accenture Software products to clients as a Service. We continue to build upon our cloud integration capabilities with our deep management skills, supported by the Accenture Cloud Platform (ACP).

ACP accelerates the adoption and integration of cloud services for our clients in two specific ways:

1) by providing a platform to create, deploy, and manage our growing suite of value-added cloud services integrated with services provided through strategic providers, and

2) by providing a centralised storefront and service catalog enabling service automation and orchestration, consumption-based metering and billing, and centralised governance by the business and IT.

Working together, Accenture and its clients are using cloud-and its convergence with mobility, analytics and social-to redefine the path to high performance.

Accenture sees the cloud as the essential vehicle for convergence of three worlds: consumers, business and technology. The rise of mobility, social networking and mobile devices has created a new norm for interaction with customers and employees. The current generation of "digital natives" expects technology to be simple to use, low- cost and available when they want it, where they want it. They are now purchasing personal cloud services such as iCloud and Dropbox en masse, no longer just services enabled by the cloud.
