KUALA LUMPUR, 28 APRIL 2010 Malaysia government ICT agency Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) today announced the signing of two co-production agreements at the recently held MIPTV [Cannes Film Festival;] 2010 in Cannes, France.
MDeC, entertainment and media Specialist, Adam Ham, said the first agreement was signed between MSC [Multimedia Supercorridor] Malaysia status company Ed-Online Technologies and the South Korean company NHC Media, for the co-production of a 2D animated children's television series named Eori'.
The second agreement was signed between MSC Malaysia status company Elite Animation and the American company Everest International Distribution, for international licence and distribution rights in America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East worth about US$3 million, he said.
He said Latin Media Corporation (LMC) and its Malaysian business partner Worldwide Rights Corporation (WRC) also announced during MIPTV 2010 that its co-produced telenovela drama series Bola Cinta' would air in Malaysia on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) starting mid-June 2010, in conjunction with the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
