RAD solution used to custom-write its online recruitment tool for would-be volunteers.

An international charity organisation, Mercy Ships has used the OutSystem Platform  to custom-write an online recruitment tool   for would-be volunteers and within two months,  experienced a 20% increase in the number of applicants seeking to be part of its mercy medical missions to developing countries.

A press statement by OutSystems  said Mercy Ships is based in Garden Valley, Texas  and owns and operates the world's largest charity hospital ship.

It said that before the online application form's development, Mercy Ships' human resources department (HRD) had to manually review and enter data from hundreds of applications to join it received yearly. Thus, there was a need to automate this process.

The lack of packaged applications, however, prompted the charitable organization to search for a solution  to build a custom-written one with the search leading to the rapid application development (RAD) by OutSystems.

OutSystems is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
