Rackspace Hosting has launched ObjectRocket, its NoSQL MongoDB Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS), in Hong Kong.
Announcing this on Thursday, the open cloud company said that the service will help Rackspace's customers in Asia to scale and manage big data in the cloud.
The offering is built upon hardware optimized specifically for MongoDB and is easily accessed and integrated into existing systems, according to the company's statement.
"Data growth continues to be one of IT's biggest challenges - especially how to store it, access it and make use of it," said Ajit Melarkode, managing director, Rackspace Asia Pacific. "ObjectRocket helps to address this challenge, as it allows companies to effectively process and analyze large volumes of data, transforming it into a competitive advantage."
"We are delighted that Rackspace chose Hong Kong to launch ObjectRocket, a game-changing technology that will further establish Hong Kong's presence as a dominant and innovative technology hub in Asia," said Charles Ng, Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Invest Hong Kong. "With ObjectRocket in place, Hong Kong businesses can further accelerate their growth by focusing on their core business as opposed to dealing with complex IT problems or challenges."
