Ramco extends cloud ERP to ANZ region

Veronica C. Silva | Jan. 2, 2013
ANZ customers can now access Ramco’s Amazon-powered ERP solution.

Enterprises in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands can now access cloud-based ERP solutions on their mobile devices after Ramco Systems launched its offering in the region.

Ramco's comprehensive cloud-based ERP solution is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and can be accessed using smartphones and tablet computers. The solution is targeted at mid-sized enterprises in the region, and can be tailored for specific industries and niche segments in the region, such as the mining, professional services, equipment rental, property, infrastructure maintenance, aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and even government services.

Ramco said the mature cloud market in the region has encouraged it to offer the solution in the region.

"Australia is the most mature market for cloud in the APAC region. We set up operations in the region to serve the local market with our suite of cloud-based offerings," said Virender Aggarwal, CEO, Ramco Systems.

"We believe the availability of a comprehensive ERP with flexibility to build industry-specific and Australia-specific features, available on the secure and reliable AWS infrastructure, will greatly benefit the growing business environment in ANZ," Aggarwal added.

Regional AWS

By opting for the AWS-powered ERP solution, Ramco said enterprises can benefit from AWS' secure, reliable and cost-effective cloud infrastructure that is also scalable to adjust to the enterprises' needs. Ramco added that its full-scale ERP offering can compete with other solutions offered by other players.

The Ramco ERP solution will use Amazon's new launched AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region, which was launched in November last year. Amazon Web Services said customers in the region can benefit from reduced latency if they run their applications and workloads in the new regional service infrastructure. Sydney became the third region in the Asia Pacific to offer the services - after Singapore and Tokyo - and the ninth AWS region worldwide.

"Ramco's innovative mobile platform for ERP on Cloud is a great example of how quickly AWS Partner Network's Technology Partners like Ramco can quickly grow their business by leveraging AWS's global footprint," said Terry Wise, head, Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, Inc.
