Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has partnered enterprise software provider Ramco Systems to improve its offerings for its customers in the cement industry.
Cement manufacturers are increasingly looking for ways to reduce energy use and emissions, improve overall performance and manage consistent product quality grade.
Understanding this, Schneider Electric has deployed Ramco's OPTIMA, an Advanced Process Optimisation software that helps improve plant productivity and efficiency by leveraging technologies such as fuzzy logic, regression analysis and artificial intelligence techniques to offer the best optimisation solutions.
OPTIMA will enable Schneider Electric's customers to stabilise their production process while maintaining the optimal operation point for minimal effect on the environment. It will support increased production volumes, promote the ease and uptake of alternative fuels, and support human operators to make the best decisions for changing operating conditions.
"The combined offer of process control, expert system and energy management [provided by OPTIMA] allows the deployment of a unique optimisation strategy," said Diego Areces, President of Mining, Minerals and Metals Solution at Schneider Electric. "This strategy will ensure optimum consumption of resources, best use of assets, maintained quality of product and stabilised processes while building an environmentally sustainable business."
