The product lifecycle management specialists at Siemens PLM Software (a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division) announced on Wednesday (April 11, 2012) that they had received the 2011 General Motors (GM) Supplier of the Year Award just about a month earlier in Detroit, for their solutions' "important role...in the automaker's efforts to design, build and sell the world's best vehicles." According to them, this latest accolade is the fourth award in the series by GM, which evaluates its vendors in certain areas, such as "quality [of product], service, technology and price."
What they examined and rated was a comprehensive set of Siemens' solutions including "NX software for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering analysis, TeamCenter software for digital lifecycle management, and Technomatix software for digital manufacturing automation and simulation." These all came with committed services rendered by an expert team, of course.
In his congratulatory message to the Siemens PLM Software team, GM's Information Officer-Enterprise Solutions Delivery, Timothy Cox said: "Siemens PLM Software's partnership, and dedication to consistently perform above expectations, contributed to both our companies' success. The entire GM team appreciates the efforts of the Siemens PLM Software team and wants to recognise the entire organisation for its performance."
