Zafar Anjum | July 15, 2011
SAP is not just for the big guys and is here to help Singapore SMEs adopt new technologies, says Kowshik Sriman, managing director, SAP Singapore.

SAP Business One solution

In this connection, the technology company recently announced the availability of starter packages for the SAP Business One solution for smaller companies.

"SAP channel partners now can offer a fixed-price, small-scale option for companies needing to equip only one to five users with business software," the company said in a statement.

On Tuesday (12 July), SAP announced the 8.81 release of the SAP Business One application, designed to help small businesses grow. According to the company, the new release features improvements that SAP is adding across its various product lines, including mobility, ease in development of partner applications and social networking.

Kowshik sees SAP's SME strategy as not just a business move but also an act of corporate social responsibility (CSR). In his view, if Singapore's SMEs have to survive the global competition, they will have to adopt new technologies.
