New virtual saving planner tool added to Breeze app.

SINGAPORE, 4 APRIL 2011 - Standard Chartered Bank has introduced a new savings planner feature on Breeze, its mobile banking app for its customer, called Wishlist.

With this app, users get to create financial goals. For instance, they can use it for purchasing a holiday package. Also, the programme can track how much is being saved every month, indicating the progress in savings made. Once achieved, the feature allows customers to share their achievements via Facebook.

The idea for Breeze was first conceived in late December 2009 by the bank’s Remote Banking division and the app was rolled out for the iPhone in Singapore during February 2010.

Breeze is available to Standard Chartered customers via iPhone, iPad and will soon be available on other devices. The platform is currently available in Singapore and Malaysia, with plans to launch it in other markets including Hong Kong.

The bank was awarded the CIO Awards this year by the CIO Asia magazine for its strategic initiatives based on the iPhone device.
