Talend names Kamal Brar as its SVP and GM of APAC

He was most recently the General Manager for Cloud Data Services for APAC at IBM.

Talend - a big data integration software provide - has appointed Kamal Brar as its SVP and GM for APAC.

In his role, he will be responsible for establishing and growing the company's customer and partner ecosystem across Asia Pacific. He will report to Talend's EVP of Worldwide Sales, Brad Stratton.

Brar was most recently the General Manager for Cloud Data Services for APAC at IBM, where he helped drive sales of the company's big data portfolio. Prior to that,he was the Vice President and General Manager APAC for MongoDB. He has also previously held leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, and MySQL.

"With deep expertise in data management solutions and extensive knowledge of the region, Brar is well qualified to lead our market initiatives as we invest heavily in growing our APAC region. He will help define and implement Talend's sales and channel programs while establishing a network of partners for Talend to take advantage of the significant growth opportunities in big data and cloud markets," said Stratton.

According to Talend, the company has benefited from recent product introductions and strong customer adoption. The company introduced Talend 6, its flagship data integration platform featuring technology support for Apache Spark and Spark Streaming on Hadoop in September 2015. In March, the company unveiled an update to its Integration Cloud solution to help streamline big data integration in Amazon Web Service environments.
