The latest Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac update

Free trial of the new version now offers experimental support for Precise Pangolin.

Virtualisation and automation software vendor Parallels announced Tuesday (April 10, 2012) that it had updated the Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, to offer "experimental support for the final beta of Linux platform Ubuntu 12.04 LTS [codenamed Precise Pangolin]," which is expected to be made available on April 26.

In addition, the update provides users with: "improved 3D support; the ability to easily download and install [the Red Hat sponsored Linux distribution] Fedora 16 from within the Parallels Wizard; support for the Dvorak, Arabic and French numeric keyboard; and, further enhanced support for the Swedish keyboard layout."

A trial copy of Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac is available as a free download, as is the update for current Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac users.
