Manila, Philippines, 16 March 2011 – One of Vietnam’s commercial banks turned to Cisco to upgrade its IT systems to keep up with customer demand.
SeABank, one of the first Vietnamese commercial joint stock banks, recently installed Cisco routers, switches and contact centre solutions to beef up its retail banking infrastructure.
The goal of the upgrade is to improve productivity, in keeping with industry practices, said Nguyen Tuan Cuong, director of IT Center, SeABank. Cuong added that the bank chose Cisco because of its end-to-end solutions and long-term support.
In recent years, the bank has been embarking on several initiatives to modernise its IT infrastructure to improve its retail banking services. In 2008, SeABank forged a strategic partnership with Societe Generale, one of the top retail banks in Europe. The partnership has helped SeABank offer a range of self-service banking services, such as the ATM network, Internet banking and mobile banking, and SeANet contact centre services.
In 2009, SeABank installed a data centre to expand its business further in the country.
“With business demands and competitive forces stronger than ever, organisations are looking for the best way to connect to their customers and employees. Cisco's solutions and technologies will help SeABank serve its customers across platforms including e-mail, SMS, Internet and retail banking,” said Lee Chiang Toh, country manager, Cisco Vietnam.
In this recent project, SeABank installed the Cisco 2800 Series routers, Cisco Catalyst 2960-S fixed-configuration access switches and Cisco Unified Contact Center Express.
