Regarding the future of data centres in Asia Pacific, and Malaysia: how feasible is it for the government to push Malaysia as a regional data centre hub?
Data centres are in Asia Pacific and Malaysia are growing rapidly due to the efficiency of cloud computing, as energy is the key challenge globally. Currently, Singapore is known to be the regional hub for Asia Pacific with eight colocation data centres. Hence it is feasible for the Malaysian government to push for Malaysia to become a regional centre hub, as Cyberjaya alone currently has 11 colocation data centres, and a total of 24 centres that are spread throughout the country.
