NEXTDC's Perth P1 datacentre has achieved the Uptime Institue's Tier III certification for design and maintainability.
The certification focuses on the the ability for individual plant or parts of the critical infrastructure to be shut down for maintenance or replacement without interruption to services.
NEXTDC chief executive, Craig Scroggie, said the certification represented an additional dimension of trust and security for customers.
"Investing so much time and resources on the extremely rigorous and detailed Tier III certification process for P1 shows how willing we are to meet the very high service levels required by increasing number of organisations in the Australian datacentre market," he said.
The P1 Perth datacentre is the third NEXTDC facility to gain a form of UTI Tier III certification following the M1 Melbourne datacentre, which was certified n October 2013, and the S1 Sydney data centre, which was certified in September 2013.
The P1 datacentre will be launched on February 24.
The Uptime Institute is seen as a global authority on datacentre design and management and provides unbiased, third party research, education, certification and consultation service on improving data centre performance and efficiency.
