Optec Technology offers mini cable for wider bandwidth in tighter space

The 1.2 mm cable assembly resolves congestion issues.

With the growing demand for wider bandwidth, a company manufacturing fibre optic cables recently introduced a mini cable assembly that can help engineers fit in more cable in tighter space.

Such is the promise of Optec Technology’s enhanced mini 1.2mm cable assembly, which the company said can increase the density of cable by as much as 60 percent.

The Hong Kong-based manufacturer said the mini 1.2mm cable assembly “is designed for tackling such cabling-congestion problem,” particularly against the conventional 2.0 mm cable.

Saving on space also results in lower capital cost and facilitates better airflow among the fibre optic cables.

The 1.2 mm cable assembly is suited for space-constrained indoor environments, such as data centres, public and private networks, storage systems, and the like.
