StruxureWare for Data Centres, Schneider Electric's data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) solution now integrates with HP OneView infrastructure management platform.
A press statement by the Paris-based provider of solutions for electricity distribution and energy management said the integration builds of StruxureWare's existing integration with HP's Universal Configuration Database (uCMDB), which took place earlier this year.
As such, it brings about holistic management of IT services and physical infrastructure within data centres.
The press statement said bidirectional and live communications between the two platforms have been enabled, eliminating operational silos separating IT and facilities in data centres from each other.
Among the benefits of this integration are savings in time and operating expenses, the press statement said.
It added that the possibility of human error has now also been minimized.
Likewise, it said the integration now enables enterprise data centres and collocation providers to create services with complete visibility of dependencies on physical infrastructure.
