The localised Cooliris social photo discovery app has been launched in China.

Customised for Chinese users, the fully localised version integrates photos from the real-name social networking service in China called Renren.

Cooliris specialises in immersive media experiences and is the creator of the Android Gallery app. The Cooliris app for iPad and iPhone is at the number one position for Lifestyle and crossed 1.5 million installs and 250 million photo views in four months.

This app allows users to browse all of the photos from several sources all in one place, and selectively share them with customised audiences in private groups.

"With China quickly becoming one of the world's largest smartphone markets, we're thrilled to launch our first international version of Cooliris with local content in China," said Soujanya Bhumkar, Cooliris CEO and co-founder.

Sharing photos from mobile

Chinese users can leverage the new Renren integration in Cooliris to experience and share all of their photos privately from their mobile library, Instagram, and Renren in the immersive Cooliris 3D Wall.

Cooliris has also included a local-language experience for this customised photo app for Chinese users.

This version is being offered  free on iPad and iPhone in China iTunes App Store.

"Our goal is to create the most beautiful and delightful photo discovery experience on mobile devices everywhere," said Bhumkar. "Now, Chinese users can enjoy all of their personal photos in the Cooliris experience."

Cooliris is encouraging customers to follow the company on its new Renren page for updates.
