Music streaming fails artists: royalties agency

Music fans are increasingly turning to music streaming services like Spotify, instead of listening to pirated copies, however artists are unhappy about their share of the spoils.

Rather than the royalty model being broken, Mr Wallach laid the blame for low artist payments at the foot of internet piracy.

"Piracy has hurt music sales in Australia just like every other country in the world. Our goal is to convince millions of people who currently spend nothing on music to start paying again," he said.
