Google Search can help you find the movies and show times

SINGAPORE, 13 NOVEMBER 2008 Google Search has come up with three new ways to get show times and more film info at your fingertips with Google's movie search tools.

The Internet company said that these search tools enable users to quickly and easily find movie show times and related info in local cinemas from both PCs and mobile phones.

Supported by all major movie chains in Singapore, users can instantaneously see show times by movies or cinemas using Google's search box, an iGoogle gadget or Google Maps, said the technology firm.

According to Google Singapore, the Movie Onebox appears automatically when you are searching for a movie on your PC or mobile phone. One can enter a movie title plus the word Singapore' (for example, Quantum of Solace Singapore) into the Google search box and the results will appear.

Also, if one is not sure which movie to watch, one can just type [movies Singapore] into the Google search box to get a list of currently-playing films in Singapore.

Movie info on personalised homepage

Another way to get movie info is from one's iGoogle personalised homepage with the Singapore Movie Times Gadget. To add the gadget to one's iGoogle page, visit www.google.com.sg/movietimes and click Add to Google'.

Google also said that one can check movie show times by cinema location in Google Maps through the Singapore Movie Finder Mapplet. One can add the mapplet to one's Google Maps by going to http://tinyurl.com/sgmoviemap and clicking Save to My Maps'.
