"glomp! brings to the public the next level of appreciation in digital connectivity. And given that the spend that glomp!ing requires is inexpensive, it will be acceptable to most," asserted Lai in response to whether he thought glomp! would take off when other social media sites don't require spending.
Lai claims the concept for glomp! was strategically formulated with a deep understanding of consumer behaviour in both traditional social media habits and desires.
"Coming from a marketing background, we have performed careful study and development and will continue to monitor public opinion," Lai said.
Will glomp! be the next Instagram or have a sudden surge in users like viral app Phewtick? Interested users and sceptics alike will have to wait for the official launch to find out.
