Asian Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited, AsiaSat, has initiated paper-free board meetings to the cloud with board portal provider, Diligent Board Member Services.
In a bid to streamline the production and distribution of board books used in AsiaSat's quarterly board meetings, AsiaSat has appointed Diligent Boardbooks to enable executives to manage meetings information in real time.
Diligent Boardbooks simplify board meetings materials by switching from paper to an electronic portal that is available on the iPad and browser.
Beyond easy facilitation, Diligent Boardbooks offer time and cost savings by making printing redundant, as well as freeing up administrative and IT support time.
Eslinda Hamzah, managing director at Diligent Asia Pacific Board Services, is confident that their board portal will drive efficiency for AsiaSat. "Diligent Boardbooks will significantly decrease administrative time, eliminate distribution costs and increase security - all with less impact on the environment," she said.
Sue Yeung, chief financial officer and company secretary of AsiaSat, said it is timely to switch to board portals to automate the tedious process of board books production.
"Our goal was to increase efficiency, decrease costs and reduce our use, and wastage, of paper. At the same time, we had to make sure the directors were comfortable moving away from physical books to a privately hosted cloud-based solution," she said.
