Malaysian telco Maxis has announced another step in its digitisation of the country's SME industry with solutions for companies operating in the logistics and transportation sector.
Speaking on 6 November 2012, Maxis' head of business services, Fitri Abdullah, said the launch of the bundled solution was the first of its kind in the country, offering an integrated solution for small and medium enterprises in the logistics and transportation space.
The integrated solution is made up of a diverse set of services beyond fixed and mobile solutions, which include Maxis Managed Machine-to-Machine (M2M), Logistics & Warehouse Management System via Maxis Cloud and Maxis Fixed Line Saver (FLS) with Unity Hotline, said Fitri.
"'Built for SME - Logistics & Transportation provides logistics for SMEs with end-to-end solutions from mobile to applications and software under one bundled offering that is designed to help their business run efficiently and in the most cost-effective manner," he said.
"This solution will benefit price conscious SMEs who require communications technology at low upfront investments and maintenance costs, and will help them to access these services through a single provider to address all their communications needs, said Fitri, adding that Maxis will be partnering with software vendors Maytrack for the Maxis Managed M2M solutions, and ProdigyNet Solutions for the Logistics and Warehouse Management System.
"Logistics and transportation make up the top five industries in the country, in terms of SME size and ICT spending, and is also expected to see a strong growth trend in the next three to four years, according to the Business Times [7/1/12: 'Logistics industry to grow 10.3 pc to RM129.9 billion (US$42 billion)' & Census of Establishment & Enterprise 2005 - Dept of Statistics]," he said.
Built for SME Solution - Logistics & Transportation is the second of a series of vertical launches from Maxis in the SME market, following the successful launch of its Built for SME - Retail, Malaysia's first integrated retail solution for retail SMEs, earlier this year.
