Enterprise applications provider Infor has ramped up its presence in Malaysia with the announcement of CloudSuite solutions at its recent industry forum attended by representatives across different industry sectors.
Helen Masters, vice president for Infor ASEAN, said the new solutions build on the partnership announced earlier this year with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which offers all of Infor's customers the benefits of Amazon's expertise and economies of scale to access resources on demand and with auto-scaling built into the Infor applications.
Masters said CloudSuite, which was also launched in Singapore, was the "first group of industry-specific application suites available on AWS cloud, which provides beautiful software with deep industry functionality and a flexible, subscription-based delivery model that significantly reduces upfront IT expenditure."
"Malaysian manufacturing, F&B, logistics and other businesses are increasingly integrating into the greater ASEAN regional and global markets," she said. "By providing manufacturers and enterprises with the business tools they need, and the flexibility and efficiency of cloud-based solutions, Malaysian managers can focus on gaining market share and expanding business opportunities throughout the region."
"Each industry suite within Infor CloudSuite is built by unifying multiple applications that historically were deployed independently to holistically support core business functions by industry," said Masters. "This core, along with fast and simple provisioning and a SaaS pricing model will help Infor CloudSuite to change the way enterprise software is delivered to and consumed by customers."
Purpose-built for industry
"SaaS today refers primarily to HCM, CRM or another edge application, never to mission-critical business operations," she said. "Infor CloudSuite redefines cloud for the enterprise, delivering the first full suite of business applications purpose-built by industry running in a public cloud through Amazon Web Services."
Masters said the company uses AWS cloud to help customers realise business benefits from AWS infrastructure. "AWS has the best and most advanced cloud infrastructure in the world, providing a delivery model, cost structure, and focus on operational excellence that perfectly complements and enhances our products. Moreover, the tie between Infor and AWS is strengthened through a common focus on customer experience, rapid-pace of innovation, and standards-based architecture."
She said Infor has reaffirmed its commitment to Malaysian businesses recently and to double-digit growth in the country over the next three years.
"With its location in the centre of Asean and a population of more than 30 million people, Malaysia offers vast opportunities for global, regional and local companies to set up manufacturing and distribution operations in the country," said Masters. "With a well-developed infrastructure and supportive manufacturing and business environment, Malaysia plays a key role in helping achieve Infor's long-term global growth."
