Malaysian IT solutions distributor ECS ICT has signed with Veeam Software (Veeam) to offer data centre availability solutions to approved Veeam Resellers, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, ECS Pericomp.

ECS ICT chief executive officer Soong Jan Hsung said: "With the challenging environment, corporations will have to maintain an 'always-on' business, hence our partnership with Veeam is timely."

"With their range of solutions for the modern data centre, coupled with our nationwide network of more than 5,000 resellers, system integrators and corporate dealers - we are confident of capturing opportunities together," Soong said.

Under the agreement, ECS Pericomp will distribute Veeam Availability Suite, which includes Veeam Backup & Replication, leveraging virtualisation, storage and cloud technologies to help organisations save time, mitigate risks, and dramatically reduce capital and operational costs, he said.

Founded in 2006, Veeam currently has 33,000 ProPartners and more than 157,000 customers worldwide. Veeam's global headquarters are located in Baar, Switzerland, and the company has offices throughout the world.
