Canon Singapore has found a new president & CEO for South and Southeast Asia Region in Kensaku Konishi who was previously heading the operations in India.
Konishi takes over from Satoshi Kimura in Singapore, the digital imaging solutions company said in a statement.
In his new role, Konishi will be responsible for leading and overseeing the company's operations in this region which spans 18 countries. Canon Singapore is the company's regional headquarters for South and Southeast Asia.
Konishi has worked in Singapore earlier in a different capacity. In 2001, he was managing director of Canon Marketing Singapore in charge of domestic marketing operations. In 2003, he was promoted to executive vice president when Canon Marketing Singapore and Canon Singapore Pte Ltd merged. In 2004, he first moved to Hong Kong and then to India.
"I am very happy to return to Singapore after eight years," Konishi said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues here to continue to grow the company to greater heights and build an excellent company that employees and society admire."
Briefing the media, he said that Asia continued to be the engine for growth in the global economy and Singapore continues to be the headquarters for the Canon's South and Southeast Asian region. Within the South and Southeast Asian region, Canon's consolidated sales increased by 13 per cent in 2011. In 2012, he expects this region to grow by 20 percent to reach US$4 billion in sales.
