Canon launches wi-fi-ready cameras in Malaysia

Digital imaging solutions provider Canon Marketing Malaysia has launched a new range of IXUS cameras with built-in wi-fi and photo sharing capabilities,

Speaking in late March 2012, Canon Marketing (Malaysia) director of the imaging communication products division, Simon Wong said the new range of IXUS cameras - the IXUS 510 HS, IXUS 500 HS, IXUS 240 HS, and IXUS 125 HS - also have new innovations such as New Face ID functions, Full HD recording and intuitive controls.

Wong said the lead models IXUS 510 HS and IXUS 240 HS, which have built-in wi-fi capability, allow the sharing photos and videos through social media features, such as Facebook, while on the move. "The four new IXUS cameras are able to record Full HD video at 1080p. They are also equipped with the Movie Digest feature, which can be used while recording in 720p resolution, allowing sound and movements to be recorded simultaneously with stills in a single press of the shutter. In addition, the camera is able to pre-record four seconds of video footage before the shutter is pressed."

Canon brand ambassador Penny Tai was also present at the launch. "We are happy to have Penny on board with us as our brand ambassador for another year and we are proud to see a home-grown talent going places as an artist and growing in her skills as a photographer," said Wong.
