SingTel's broadband bid gathers steam

Support for SingTel to help build Australia's mooted national broadband network is growing.

A Singapore-based spokeswoman said SingTel's bid adhered to the principles of structural separation, open access and protection from overbuild.

"We have experience implementing structural separation in Singapore, where retail operators are allowed to own no more than 30 per cent, or minority stakes," she said.
