The Butterfleye camera keeps an eye on your home, no wires attached

Susie Ochs | May 22, 2014
Connected cameras let you peek into your home while you're away--or peek at whatever parts of your home the camera can see from its tether to an open power outlet, anyway. The Butterfleye is a web-connected camera with sensors, so it's a little like the Dropcam or the Piper. But the Butterfleye is easier to move around your house since it doesn't require AC power.

We didn't get to see Butterfleye's iOS app in action or check out its video quality, but the camera's cordless design could really help it stand out from the smart-camera crowd as long as keeping it charged doesn't become a pain. Butterfleye is taking preorders now for $199, with an early 2015 ship date planned. (Retail pricing will be $249.)
