Acer, Yes bundling deal for Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR, 4 APRIL 2011 - Computer manufacturer Acer and 4G firm YTL Communications are offering a bundling deal to Malaysians of Acer Aspire notebooks with free Yes 4G service worth RM217 [about US$72].

Acer Malaysia general manager Ricky Tan said this constituted the biggest bundling deal in Malaysia.  "The joint promotion means that Malaysians could buy Acer Aspire notebooks bundled with free Yes 4G, which includes mobile internet with voice including 150 minutes of free calls to all networks, 150 free SMS to all networks and a 018 mobile number."

YTL Communications chief executive officer, Wing Lee, said:  "With a single Yes ID users could make phone calls and send SMSes to any number in Malaysia and the world from the convenience of their Acer notebooks in addition to surfing the web at speeds up to five times faster than 3G."

"The Acer-Yes promotion is applicable for the Acer Aspire 4750G-2414G50, Aspire 4743-382G50, and Aspire 4743ZG-622G32.  All three models come with a free Yes Go 4G Dongle with 3.5GB Data, 150 SMSes and 150 minutes on calls nationwide for 1 month," said Acer's Tan.

"This joint promotion with Yes is another tangible value that Acer can offer to our customers.
