African nations face longer wait for commercial LTE rollout

Angola and South Africa are the only two African countries to allow LTE deployment for commercial services.

At the 20th edition of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly 2013 held this week in Livingstone, Zambia, Ericsson and Zamtel took the opportunity to demonstrate a trial in how to deliver 4G mobile communications. The trial was the first 4G service in Zambia and it was calculated to show the benefits of 4G to the 1,200 delegates from over 150 United Nations member states. Zamtel is one of Zambia's largest mobile services providers.
