Ahlstrom — a Finnish high performance fibre-based materials company — has chosen Indian IT services and consulting provider Tech Mahindra to manage its IT operations.
Ahlstrom will also be moving 50 of its IT employees globally to Tech Mahindra on 1 December 2014, subject to country specific conditions, as per a business transfer agreement.
"This agreement will allow us to build more harmonised IT portfolio at a lower cost," said Kristiina Lammila, vice president of information solutions of Ahlstrom. "It also provides interesting career and professional development opportunities for the people being retained at Ahlstrom and for those being transferred to our alliance."
The partnership is expected to benefit Tech Mahindra too. According to Tech Mahindra's head of enterprise business for continental Europe Rajesh Chandiramani, the arrangement will help "enable the company's service offerings for the customers in Finland."
