Malaysian telco Maxis is to offer a range of new data plans for Apple's new iPad, which will be available in Malaysia from April 20 2012, said the company.

In a statement on April 18, Maxis said the new data plans, available from April 20 2012, would take advantage of recent widespread network upgrades in Malaysia using (high speed packet access) Dual Carrier technology, which allow the doubling of download and websurfing performances previously available.

On April 16 2012, Apple announced that the new iPad, the third generation of its category defining mobile device, would arrive in Malaysia and 11 additional countries on Friday, April 20. The new iPad features a new Retina display, Apple's new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics for capturing photos and 1080p HD (high definition) video. The new iPad would deliver the same all-day 10 hour battery life.
