China scrubs Apple's iPad and MacBooks from government buying list

Report claims that China's government is increasing pressure on Western technology firms.

As the Financial Times pointed out today, the Central Government Procurement Center has not gotten the memo about the Apple ban: On Wednesday, the agency's website was still offering Apple's MacBook Air and MacBook Pro notebooks.

Apple did not reply to a request for comment, and the National Development and Reform Commission, one of the Chinese agencies responsible for generating the procurement list, was not available after hours.
