The Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BPO Career Hub Network Corporation to enhance job search in the Philippines.
"Jobseekers nowadays should take advantage of every opportunity offered by modern technology to access gainful employment opportunities," said Labour and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz at the MOU signing.
Under this partnership, BPO Career Hub will support DOLE's employment facilitation activities, such as job fairs, through the promotion and use of its digital marketing services, specifically the 'virtual interview' facility.
"We will provide the DOLE with online advertising services and data management support for the JobStart Programme," said Rafael Maramag, director of operations at BPO Career Hub.
According to Baldoz, the virtual interview "will facilitate job search by workers, and hiring by employers."
The BPO Career Hub will also coordinate with partner academic institutions participating in Labour Market Information research and analysis.
In addition, the partnership will also provide necessary technical assistance in the development and updating of Information Technology-Business Process Management Career Information Guide and Pamphlets.
Meanwhile, DOLE will endorse other online job and talent sourcing activities conducted by BPO Career Hub.
In line with that, a digital ad space and links in the websites of BPO Career Hub and PhilJobNet will be established, allowing applicants to view job vacancies, apply to other employment openings, as well as gain access to other employment facilitation-related information.
According to Baldoz, "Apart from identifying academic institutions that will participate in our various labour facilitation programmes and activities, we will also promote the 'virtual interview' platform to Public Employment Service Offices to reach more jobseekers in the countryside."
BPO Career Hub is an online job portal providing business process outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing, call centre jobs for Filipinos, in addition to giving free career assessments and tips to job seekers.
