We could see Facebook's long-awaited iPad app before Apple's iPhone event on Tuesday, according to a report.
TechCrunch believes that Facebook has an event planned for Monday where it will announce the Facebook iPad app and 'Project Spartan', an HTML5-based mobile platform.
TechCrunch's report hints that a joint Facebook - Apple announcement is a possibility and that the two companies are still in discussions. However, the unnamed source of the report claims that Facebook is ready to launch its iPad app with or without Apple.
As the report speculates, Apple may very well want Facebook to present the iPad app at Tuesday's event to highlight the HTML5 capabilities of iOS 5. Facebook, however, may want to present the app with its own spin, rather than letting the focus be on Apple.
Project Spartan, which we've been hearing whispers about for a few months now , is said to be an HTML 5 web app for iOS devices that will compliment, rather than compete with, the native Facebook iOS apps.
