FireEye’s new Centre of Excellence to help develop cyber security talents in Singapore

Nurdianah Md Nur | Jan. 17, 2014
The centre will deliver training programmes that are in line with the NCIF and will house more than 100 cyber security professionals over the next two years.

In North Asia, APT tools such as Terminator RAT (also known as FakeM) have been repeatedly used in cyber attacks against Tibetan and Uyghur activists as well as attacks in Taiwan. This APT group is one of the many that have been changing their tools, tactics and procedures so as to evade security defences, according to the study.

As cyber threats are becoming more complex and diverse, FireEye advises organisations to reassess their efficacy against these threats instead of simply relying on traditional security strategies to prevent cyber attacks.
