Internet giant Google Malaysia has stopped access to a low budget anti-Islamic video hosted on its YouTube channel following an official complaint from Malaysian regulator The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on 15 September 2012.
Allegedly produced by a small group of extremist Christians in the US, the YouTube clips have incited anger across different countries for mocking of the Prophet Mohammed.
A YouTube spokesperson told reporters in the US that it started restricting access to the video clips from the movie, called "Innocence of Muslims", from 16 September as the videos breached its community guidelines.
Google has also blocked access to the video in Indonesia, Libya, Egypt and India.
