Chinese ICT giant Huawei and Internet service provider Baidu formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of cooperation between Huawei's innovative solution "Service Anchor" and "Baidu map".

The CloudMall solution from Huawei is designed to help operators construct a service-centric IDC network architecture.

This solution was recently showcased at the Mobile World Congress where Huawei also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of cooperation between its "Service Anchor" solution and "Baidu map".

Huawei's CloudMall solution improves IDC resource utilization and the operation capability.

Moreover, it helps in the development of new business models based on cloud services and give operators a competitive edge in the cloud service industry.

CloudMall has achieved commercial success since its launch last year. It was deployed by Beijing Telecom, China Unicom, and Shanghai Telecom last year.

Indoor mobile internet

Huawei and integrated Internet service provider Baidu have teamed on jointly developing indoor mobile internet by leveraging mapping services named "Baidu Map" and Huawei's "Service Anchor."

Huawei's "Service Anchor" is based on open platform for carriers to open their network resources and capabilities for third party applications.

Under this new agreement, both companies will work in the areas of technical innovation, product development, and marketing promotion.

This collaboration is expected to accelerate the development of mobile internet applications based on indoor scenarios.

Huawei and Baidu will also explore the new business models for launching (information and communications technology) ICT convergence solutions across the industry.

"The cooperation with Huawei  will not only serve to further enhance Baidu Map in indoor coverage ratio and user experience in indoor scenarios, but also helpful for probing indoor navigation, indoor precise marketing and other new businesses, and also will be very beneficial to Baidu's strategy in the mobile Internet industry," said Guangfu Su, director of Baidu LBS Domain.
