IBM opens up smartphone, tablet support for its workers

IBM has embraced the growing 'bring your own device' trend by allowing its employees to buy and use their own smartphones and tablets for work tasks, said IBM's CTO for mobility, Bill Bodin.

Bodin said the password requirement isn't always popular with users, but it's essential to ensuring adequate security. "Screen locks are necessary tactical solutions, even though people aren't always agreeable to them," he explained.
