Malaysian telco U Mobile invited international jazz singer Olivia Ong to give a concert to 3,000, which attracted fans from the region including Taiwan and Japan.
U Mobile head of corporate communications Lisy Lee said on 13 February that the 'Are U Ready for Love' live concert featured songs by Elvis Presley, Teresa Teng, Faye Wong, and the Bee Gees. "As we continue to bring more value-add offerings to our customers, U Mobile is delighted to be able to continuously provide exciting, new and memorable experiences to them while they take advantage of our quality products and services. It's just our way of saying thanks to our customers for their unremitting loyalty and support."
Lee said that as well as sponsoring the concert, U Mobile also selected 23 winners of its recent Facebook contest to meet with Olivia Ong at a meet-the-fans session and a post-concert celebration. Both events were held last weekend at Berjaya Times Square.
"Held at Neway Karaoke Box, Berjaya Times Square, the meet-and-greet session presented 23 lucky winners the opportunity to spend quality time with Olivia," she said. "Games, photo-taking and autograph sessions were also organised, much to the delight of the winners. Another four lucky couples too had the opportunity to meet Olivia in person for a special photo-session at the post-concert celebration party."
