A new security solutions suite, called Endpoint Security 8, includes anti-malware expertise to Malaysian businesses, said Russian security solutions provider Kasperky Lab.
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows and Kaspersky Security Centre 9 is the company's most significant business product announcement in four years, said Kaspersky Lab corporate sales director, Asia Pacific, Gun Suk Ling.
"IT departments are striving to secure technology that is constantly evolving, and used by an increasingly mobile, cloud-based, distributed workforce," said Gun. "Businesses are faced with the choice of using the latest technology that cannot be secured by their IT departments due to security concerns and logistical cost or to reduce their competitiveness by continuing with older, less competitive technology."
"Many organisations are leveraging the evolution of information technology (IT) in running, developing and sustaining their operations and businesses," she said. "According to analysis done by International Data Corporation, total IT spending in Malaysia is set to grow to US$6.5 billion this year."
"IT implementation opens up an organisation to more cyber threats including malware, hacking, and DDoS [distributed denial of service] attacks," Gun said. "Kaspersky Lab experts have found that in the past 12 months, at least one IT security incident was experienced of the companies surveyed. Almost a third of companies experienced the loss of sensitive data loss."
Cloud-assisted detection technologies
"This is where Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows can help as it is a key addition to our comprehensive security solutions, which helps businesses to combat modern blended threats," she said. "It combines efficient anti-malware protection with a broadened feature set, designed to build stronger corporate security policies and control the attack surface. Our new products offer near real time protection by tightly integrating signature-based, proactive and cloud-assisted detection technologies."
"These new endpoint protection products deliver a new level of deep enterprise-wide threat protection, comprehensive control, centrally deployed, administered and monitored by a unified protection management system that is set to keep businesses ahead of emerging threats with intelligent security solutions from the experts at Kaspersky Lab," Gun said.
"With this new release, we deliver a comprehensive Endpoint Protection Platform that consists of seamlessly integrated security modules," she said. "We have merged real-time, cloud-assisted protection with intelligent proactive endpoint protection, and have created a compelling security centre that will help companies of all sizes protect themselves against emerging IT threats, including targeted attacks, and thus improve their productivity."
"The introduction of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 and Kaspersky Security Centre 9 is a direct response to the raging cyber threats that could put any organisation's productivity and its valuable intangible asset at risk," Gun added.
