We are graduating fewer engineers in this country than ever while China and India are developing more, so we have to go outside the U.S. to find the talent we need. Industry leaders need to engage local high schools and let faculty and students know that we have plenty of high-tech opportunities in manufacturing, but not enough skilled talent. We have to work with high schools so they teach the skills we need and then reward them with good jobs for their graduates.
