Former Standard Chartered official Lam Chee Kin has joined DBS Group Holdings as its head of compliance, reported Bloomberg.
An internal memo obtained by Bloomberg stated that Lam will report to the Chief Executive Officer Piyush Gupta and will join the group management committee. The news agency also reported that DBS' spokeswoman Edna Koh confirmed the contents of the memo.
With 20 years of experience in law, Lam was most recently Standard Chartered's head of legal and compliance for Southeast Asia. He previously worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and law firms including Rajah & Tann Singapore and Allen & Gledhill, according to the memo.
The memo also showed that with Lam's appointment, predecessor Sue Lynn Koo becomes the bank's head of legal and secretariat.
