We adored the Logitech UE Boombox, but in spite of its promising audio and good looks, we were left wanting in the connectivity department. Now it appears Logitech has tended to those deficiencies with its UE Mini Boom mobile speaker.
It's a small stereo speaker that works with compatible smartphones, tablets and computers over Bluetooth. Two paired devices can stream music to the UE Mini Boombox at the same time and it can commit up to eight devices to memory.
Better yet, Android Jelly Bean devices compatible with NFC can pair with the UE Mini Boom with a simple tap.
People who take their music seriously will appreciate that two UE Mini Booms can be paired together to create a more authentic stereo image. Getting the two speakers to work in unison is a matter of downloading a free application from the relevant Apple or Android application store.
Logitech claims the UE Mini Boom battery "lasts up to 10 hours". Fortunately the speaker can be recharged using a generic microUSB charger; a standard familiar to most Android users.
The Logitech UE Mini Boom will be available from late February for a recommended retail price of $99.95. Available colours include orange, purple, red, yellow and black.
