Integrated security appliance vendor and services provider, WatchGuard Technologies, has hired Cadell McMillan as its sales manager for New Zealand.
Based in Auckland, McMillan will lead channel development, new business momentum and customer support across the country.
According to a statement, the appointment was made to meet growing demand for WatchGuard in NZ.
"[McMillan's] understanding of the IT security challenges facing NZ-based end user organisations will be a great asset in ensuring we continue to provide industry-leading solutions backed by optimal support and service excellence," WatchGuard Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) regional director, Pat Devlin, said.
"His strong track record in technical and strategic business management will play an important role in enabling us and our partners to stand out as a leading provider of business security solutions."
McMillan joins WatchGuard with 19 years' experience in the IT industry, particularly on the project management and technical fronts.
He most recently worked with AIA Insurance NZ for five years, having held a number of strategic positions, including IT project manager and senior network administrator.
AIA credits him with redesigning its core business applications and backend systems which resulted in significant benefits to all areas of the organisations.
McMillan's career has also seen him in systems management, technical consulting, engineering, and project management roles for organisations including Young and Rubicam Advertising, Southern Cross Healthcare, Computer Science Corporation, Salomon, Smith Barney, Westpac Banking Corporation, and Auckland City Council.
