New industry solution aims to ease manufacturers' release of devices into the market

Dassault Systèmes recently announced at the AdvaMed 2012 conference, a new industry solution aimed at providing a single source of information for innovation targeted at medical device manufacturers.

"Increasing regulatory scrutiny is putting pressure on medical device manufacturers to achieve total quality and safety," said executive vice president for Industry and Marketing at Dassault Systèmes Monica Menghini.

The Paris-based 3D software company Dassault Systèmes dubs the solution "Licensed to Cure".

According to the statement, "Licensed to Cure" will provide medical device manufacturers with the ability to expedite time to market and minimise regulatory overhead.

"With the number of FDA warning letters issued on the rise, the time and budget that these manufacturers spend on regulatory activities is increasing," Menghini added

Among others, the solution will be able to optimise medical device manufacturers' supply chain and extended ecosystem, and allow companies to eliminate scattered processes and data.

The AdvaMed 2012 conference was held in Boston, Massachusetts, US, from 1-3 October.
