Beauty brand Molton Brown is targeting improvements in its global sales tracking with a remote system from RealVNC.
The company said the system would help provide its head office with fast and secure access to sales figures from all retail systems in its 50 UK stores and its hundreds of stockists across 70 countries.
VNC Enterprise Edition allows one computer to take control of another from anywhere in the world, with cross-platform support for Windows, Mac and UNIX. VNC Enterprise Edition comprises a small VNC Server application on the machine to be controlled and a VNC Viewer component on the controlling machine.
With VNC Enterprise Edition now installed on every Molton Brown POS and back-office PC system across the world, the centralised UK-based IT team can glean round-the-clock access to global sales figures.
The software replaces previous processes which saw retailers send in their sales figures manually.
Molton Brown's IT support is outsourced but the internal IT team still needs to collate confidential sales data in-house, Molton Brown said.
Tanay Taank, VP of IT at Molton Brown, said the "speed and simplicity of establishing a session" played a part in the choice of software, alongside ease of use. "Now our IT technicians can access retail systems even outside of trading hours or when staff are busy with customers," he added
