Samsung is expected to announce its Galaxy S5 smartphone in a week's time and the device could go on sale this month.
The suggestive 'Unpacked 5' event will take place next Monday in Barcelona where the smartphone and tablet tech show, MWC, takes place. Samsung will almost certainly unveil the Galaxy S5 and O2 might have given away the phone's release date.
A new page on O2 Germany's website states that the Galaxy S5 will arrive at the end of February with an optional form to be notified of further details. Translated the page says "Anticipation high 52" and "Get new about Samsung that can do more".
The landing page includes an image of a smartphone submerged in water but whether this implies the GS5 will be waterproof like Sony's Xperia handsets is up for debate. It does fit it with O2's bubble branding so it could be nothing more than in keeping with its style.
So it looks like the Galaxy S5 could go on sale very soon after the highly anticipated smartphone in unveiled by Samsung. The device will go up against the iPhone 5s as well as plenty of anticipated flagship devices from the likes of LG, Sony, HTC and Nokia.
The Galaxy S5 is rumoured to be launching in two models, one metal and another cheaper plastic version. The handset will supposedly be arriving with a 5.25in 2560 x1440 screen with in-built fingerprint scanner, a 16Mp rear camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and a beefy processor.
It is also thought to be accompanied by mini and Zoom alternatives, following on from the Galaxy S4 versions.
