Samsung has today unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini - a 4-inch version on the massively popular S3, that was launched earlier this year.
Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini's features do not appear to have taken much of a nosedive, despite its 16.6 percent decrease in size from the original S3. Here's how Samsung describes the Galaxy S3 Mini in its own words "[the Galaxy S3 Mini is] a compact version of the flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III. The Galaxy S III Mini brings the high performance, intuitive ease-of-use and nature-inspired design of the Galaxy S III to an elegant, compact smartphone with a 4.0-inch screen.". Simon Stanford, Vice President, Telecommunications & Networks Division, Samsung UK and Ireland said: "The award winning Galaxy S III has been extremely well received globally since it launched earlier this year so we are thrilled to be able to offer our customers the same revolutionary design, intuitive usability and intelligence in a mini version. We will continue to develop smartphones to cater for a variety of customer needs and this latest release demonstrates our on-going commitment to offering our customers more choice at every price point."
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (with its a 4-inch display) is obviously intended to ruin both Apple's iPhone 5 party, which also has a 4-inch display. To really stick the boot in, Samsung has also pinched the name 'Mini' from Apple too, as the Californian tech company was set to launch its iPad mini later this month.
