A Malaysian delegation led by a Sarawak minister has toured Samsung Digital City in South Korea as part of a visit to promote Sarawak as a strategic location for business.
On 13 January 2012, Sarawak minister of public utilities and industrial planning, Hon. Datuk Amar Hj Awang Tengah Bin Ali Hassan visited the Samsung Digital City in Suwon, South Korea, with a delegation under a banner of 'Sarawak Investment and Timber Selling Mission to Seoul' as part of a plan by the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) to primarily strengthen Sarawak's timber market in Seoul.
An additional objective was to observe new high tech developments in South Korea, according to Amar Hj Awang, who is also second minister of resource planning and the Sarawak cum chairman of STIDC board of management.
The 37-strong team of delegates, which included chief minister's office (Bumiputra Entrepreneur Development) assistant minister Hon. Datuk Hj Mohd. Naroden Haji Majais, was hosted by Samsung Electronics advisor at the Suwon Support Centre, Hew Young-Ho.
